چکیده

Abstract Lung is the respiratory organ and important hematopoietic of human body, which easily damaged under impact load. Therefore, studying mechanical behavior lung load an way to understand its damage mechanism it. Compression experiments porcine tissue at a wide strain rate (0.001-3000 s −1 ) were carried out room temperature. The modifications made for highly accurate measurement due low wave impedance. results show that behaviors consist three stages, linear elasticity, plateau stage, compaction. presents distinct rate-dependence in compaction stage. Furthermore, it behaves nearly similarly both loading directions vertical parallel trachea, facilitates demonstration isotropy.

High strain-rate behavior of ice under uniaxial compression

In the present study, a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) is employed to investigate the dynamic response of ice under uniaxial compression in the range of strain rates from 60 to 1400 s 1 and at initial test temperatures of 10 and 30 C. The compressive strength of ice shows positive strain-rate sensitivity over the range of strain rates employed; a slight influence of ice microstruc...

Material Properties and Constitutive Modeling of Infant Porcine Cerebellum Tissue in Tension at High Strain Rate

BACKGROUND The mechanical characterization of infant porcine cerebellum tissue in tension at high strain rate is crucial for modeling traumatic cerebellum injury, which is in turn helpful for understanding the biomechanics of such injuries suffered in traffic accidents. MATERIAL AND METHOD In this study, the infant porcine cerebellum tissue was given three loading velocities, ie, 2s-1, 20s-1 ...

Compressive Behavior of Luffa Sponge Material at High Strain Rate

The strain rate effect of luffa sponge material is an indispensable property for it to be used for acoustic, vibration, and impact energy absorption. Compressive tests at different strain rates on cylindrical column specimens of luffa sponge material were conducted over a wide density ranging from 24 to 64 kg/m. A photographic technique was applied to measure the section area of the specimen wi...

Bioimpedance of soft tissue under compression.

In this paper compression-dependent bioimpedance measurements of porcine spleen tissue are presented. Using a Cole-Cole model, nonlinear compositional changes in extracellular and intracellular makeup; related to a loss of fluid from the tissue, are identified during compression. Bioimpedance measurements were made using a custom tetrapolar probe and bioimpedance circuitry. As the tissue is inc...

Effect of strain rate on the compression behavior of a woven glass fiber/SC-15 composite

Strain rate dependent compression behavior of a plain-weave S-2 glass fabric SC-15 epoxy (rubber toughened resin) composite plate, currently studied as the backing plate for composite armor applications, was determined in the through-thickness direction (normal to the fiber plane) in the strain rate regime of 1 10 4 to 1:1 10 s . In the studied strain rate regime, the modulus and failure streng...
